Today, I want to discuss a paid method that gets a lot of bad talk in the affiliate marketing space

But it is really one of fastest and easiest ways to get traffic to any offer.

I am talking about solo ads!

What is A Solo Ad?

A solo ad is a one time email blast you buy from a vendor that has created a “email list” of people in a certain niche. Most of these vendors are other marketers like you and I that will accept payment in exchange for sending an email you have written to their mailing list.

For example, let’s say you were promoting an affiliate product that teaches people how to sell affiliate products, but you do not have an existing group of people to promote your offer to and let’s also assume you are not that great at Facebook Ads or other types of paid traffic.

You could simply pay a preset amount, let’s say $65 for 100 clicks to your affiliate offer from people that have previously expressed an interested in your niche.

The best part about this method of using solo ads, is its a hands off way to get traffic, leads, sales and build your list at the same time.

The problem for most people is they do not know what to look for or ask a solo ads vendor before buying.

So I wanted to take the time to break down the basics for you. Here is a list of questions you need to ask the solo ads provider before buying

Best Questions To Ask Your Solo Ad Vendor Before Buying?

1. Are you going to be sending traffic from your own list or do you broker? The vendors own list is preferred

2. What percentage of Tier 1 traffic will you be sending? We want at least 80% and up Tier 1

3. What is your Cost Per Click (CPC)? We want to ask for a reduced rate no matter what they say. So if they send you to their website and it shows .65 per click, ask them they will sell you the clicks for .45 per click or something significantly less

4. How long does it take for you to deliver the clicks? Average time frame is 24-72 Hours

5. Will you accept my pre written swipe file? You always want the vendor you use the copy you provide

6. When is the last time you promoted “My Offer”? If the vendor says he has promoted it within the last week or so, you need to wait before using this vendor.

Additional Tips: Always provide a tracking link to the vendor or ask if he has one. Be sure to make a list of the vendors you use and document your results each time. The goal is to develop a list of reliable vendors you can continue to buy from going forward.

Lastly, find a vendor that has the bare minimum requirements

1. A website
2. Lots of recent testimonies from other people besides other solo ads vendors
3. Willing to be flexible on the price

Marketing Mistake #1-Trying To Do EVERYTHING By YOURSELF

No one that is truly successful got there 100% by themselves and if you are trying to be the first, you’re more likely to end up in the one hit wonder hall of fame.

Look I get it, you may not have a lot of money or time, but that’s exactly why you need to use what you have very wisely.

If you are attempting to create your own articles, do your own SEO, write sales copy, launch products, promote other peoples products, get traffic, etc etc, you will literally run yourself into the ground due to exhaustion.

There is nothing wrong with being self sufficient, but where do you draw the line?

It is literally impossible to be great at everything and in this day and age you really don’t have to be.

Stop spending long hours in front of the computer trying to be a Jack of All Trades.

Instead, focus your energy in the areas that are going to help your business grow and increase profits.

Marketing Mistake #2- Following The Wrong Crowd

There’s always that loud mouth guru hosting a FB live or taking up all the breathing room in your most favorite online forum.

Sure they have a lot of respect in the eyes of the community, but they really don’t practice what they preach.

They are quick to tell you about the latest way to make money online, but aren’t currently making any themselves.

They offer no value to their customers and the only reason they are still thriving is because you blindly trust them without verifying their claims for yourself.

To keep your inbox tidy and distraction-free, take advantage of unsubscribing by:

Creating a separate email address. Use it for marketing emails only.

Evaluate and use these emails as competitive analysis.

Unsubscribe to email lists when no value added follow up emails appear.

Note: It is ok to stay on a few lists that really provide value to you.

Following these simple rules will increase productivity, focus, and ensure that email is a tool to be used as opposed to a shiny object.

Set Some Priorities

Focusing on just a few things is one of the hardest things to do when suffering from shiny object syndrome. Therefore, it is critical to prioritize and determine what you actually NEED to learn.

Prioritization is a significant part of productivity. Pick the most important priorities and focus on those. By whittling down the priorities to those that are most important, the chances of reaching those goals become more likely because the time has been set aside for them.

Being a lifelong learner is a positive thing. But it can feed into shiny object syndrome if there are too many books to read or courses to take. Drill down on what you need to learn in order to accomplish a specific goal and focus all of your energy into that. Everything else can fall by the wayside.

If you are someone that has to mind that loves to wander, try creating an idea parking lot. An idea parking lot is a place to keep ideas that come up. Multiple ideas are a definite productivity killer because most of them are not at a stage where they can be acted upon.

Carry around a notebook or create a document that can serve as a repository for ideas and keep them there. When an idea is needed, simply return to the idea parking lot and choose one.

Find A Proven Program or Mentor To Follow

There are a million ways to make money online, but which method will work best for you? Finding a proven program that consistently produces results for the individuals following the training is a great place to start. In addition, having a mentor can dramatically speed up your learning curve and keep you from wasting a lot of time or money trying to learn things the hard way.

Goal-Setting

Goal-setting goes hand in hand with self-discipline because setting specific goals will help keep you on track. Set your goals using SMART:

Specific– Set specific short-term and long-term goals. A specific long-term goal is to attain ten new clients in the next 5 months. The short-term goal might be to set up a new campaign on social media in the next week or two in order to attract new clients.

Measurable– All of your goals should be measurable. In the above example, you would need to land 2 new clients per month to reach a goal of 10. You can use tools such as website and social media analytics to measure the effectiveness of your efforts to attract new clients.

Attainable– Keep your goals attainable. You may set a long-term goal that is slightly out of reach. But your short-term goals should be achievable. This ensures that you won’t be tempted to reach for another shiny object if you fall short.

Relevant– All of the goals you set should be relevant to where you want to go with your marketing career and your life. Put your time, money, and efforts into things that support your main goal.

Time-Based– Set deadlines for yourself. Goals will only be measurable, attainable, and relevant with deadlines. If you’re not meeting your goals by set deadlines, then they should be reevaluated.

Determining how to get rid of shiny object syndrome first requires you recognize that you have it and secondly make a commitment to do something about it. Put down that credit card and follow the 5 tips discussed above.

What I Don’t Like About Autonars?

Autonars requires YouTube videos to run the webinars. A user can click out of the webinar platform and watch or download your video directly from YouTube. For me this is not a dealbreaker, but experienced marketers will be able to tell the webinar you are hosting is not live. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if the webinar is live, it’s more about the value you provide in the video.

What Do I Like About Autonars?

Autonars provides an easy way to put your training or coaching video directly in front of your target audience. I really like the fact I can send visitors to a training video via a signup link and have them watch whether its morning noon or night. Having the ability to track signups, communicate with them through the platform on the fly and promote my offers at the same time is going to an another element of success to my business. This will automate list building and so much more.

Overall, I think this is a very effective tool you can benefit from if you use it properly especially considering it is a one time cost.  If you are brand new to internet marketing I would recommend taking some time to learn your craft before trying to create webinars or take advantage of the two pre built webinars that come with the tool.

Keep in mind, you can always go on YouTube and use other peoples videos for your webinar then send them to your affiliate link afterwards, but it is recommended you make your own videos.

Instead of giving you a completely bias review, I try to be fair and provide some pros and cons based on my personal experience. So if you ask me what I do not like about the course, I’d say the fact that the Front End is composed of PDFs, it can make it hard for some people to follow. This course is jammed packed with information and if you are not focused when you go through it, you will lose yourself at times. Luckily there is always the option to upgrade to OTO1 and get the video walkthrough so you can have that to help as well.

What Do I Really Like About The Ultimate Video Course?

I really like the fact that the stuff Gary teaches actually works, not only does it work, it works well and fast. I worked on getting a Mock example ready to show, but didn’t finish building it out yet. I will say the results I saw from setting up just one channel as Gary explains, I saw multiple first page rankings for several keywords I targeted, this was in a local niche. I can not help but continue thinking, what would those rankings look like had I continue building out the remaining parts of the process? Simply mind blowing I’d assume.
